Jackson Mackay(FR)

Født I Alsace, for foden af Vosges bjergene, tilbragte Jackson sine tidlige år på sin bedstefars gård og med hans famile band “The Sock Songs”

Han rejste hjemmefra I 1980 for at begynde sin musikalske karriere og turnerede over hele Europa som bassist/guitarist, og senere som en rost komponist og producer.
Han turnerede gennem mange år med den irske sanger Shane Brady, tyske first-act sangere og artister som Harald Junke eller Mary, og var udøvende producer ved Calren Studios

Mens  han lavede studie sessioner, live tv-udsendelser og komponerede soundtracks fik Jackson  en solid erfaring i musikbranchen

Han begyndte sin karriere som Country-musik sanger I 1993 da en ven bad ham optræde på et Biker-træf. Men hans største musikalske åbenbaring kom under en lang rejse gennem Australien. Medens han opholdt sig på Malakoff Station nær Cloncurry hørte han Lee Kernaghan’s sange og australsk Country musik for aller første gang. Det var begyndelsen til et stort eventyr.

Hjemme igen, dybt inspireret af Lee og fotos, skrev han sine første sang e  “The Lonely Bushman”, “This is Love”, og så sit første  album “The Game”, optaget i 1997af Skip Mitchell ved The Reflections Studio i Nashville, TN. I årenes løb har Jackson Mackay optjent et ry som en af Europas bedste Country Music kunstnere.

Han har aldrig glemt hvad australsk Country Musik tilførte ham: en lyd, en ånd og inspirationen  af ærlige mennesker, der bor i et af de smukkeste lande i verden.

AWARDS: 
Jackson was a three-time nominee at the French FACM Country music awards in 2003 and 2004. -
In 2004 and 2005 won Best Singer of the Year as well as Best Live Performance.
 He also won the Music Box Country Music award in 2005 for Best Singer of the Year.
During those years he recorded three more albums of original songs, “Jump into My World”, “Highway to Country” and “Border Lands”
AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2009 - Jackson was on tour in Australia from January 11th to february 11th.
- 25 shows in Tamworth, Wittlesea, Victorian Country Music Awards…
- He was a special guest of Lee Kernaghan at the Be-centenial Park in Tamworth
- The international guest at the Victorian Country Music Awards in Wittlesea.
"Border Lands” – New release 2008/2009 Koonda Music / Obermain Musik Produktion
Spring 2008, Jackson Mackay is back with a substantive and astonishing opus, "Border Lands", demonstrating that in France he leads among innovators who draw from the roots of Country Music/Rock & Folk. The songs, written in collaboration with American songwriter Lorraine Duisit, call forth scenes and slices of life from Jackson's homeland of Alsace. "Border Lands" is an invitation to journey with Jackson along the frontier, in a musical adventure straight from the heart of his Vosges mountain.

Jackson’s song “Hey, Hey, the Cowboys of the world” was released in june 2008 for the BMG/Sony sampler “Internationaler ADAC Truck Grand Prix” in Germany as well as US first act singers.

The French music magazine called “Le cris du Coyotte” wrote those few lines “Jackson's music goes in complete agreement with the character, cool, soft. The compositions can point out the nonchalance of a Jimmy Buffett, the tranquility of a James Taylor and this imperceptible feeling of the music known as "Country" with a laid-back flavor that Jackson has perfected”

Jackson will be on tour presenting his new show “Spring time” 120 minutes of new songs co-written with Lorraine Duisit (USA), Mike Turtle (UK) or Greame Connors (AUS) and songs from his latest release “Border Lands”

Let us note first of all that it was one of very few French albums to be distributed. It was a good choice. Because the new album is quite simply splendid. It is so rare to hear a French Country music album sound so American. The sound, the voice, the arrangements…all is there. Five stars for the song “Good and Country, as well as for the very “swing” “Turn Me Loose and Let me Swing”, which shows that Jackson can walk between Country, Rock’n’Roll, Ballads, and Western Swing with bluesy intonation and soul.
